ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi on Tuesday said relations between Pakistan and Poland were ‘excellent’ and that they were improving with each passing day.
Speaking on the occasion of centenary of Regaining Independence by the Republic of Poland and the Polish Armed Forces day, the minister said that the relations between the two countries were deeply-rooted and historical.
He added that people-to-people contacts between the two countries were necessary to further strengthen relations and that such relations will also be given a new dimension.
Ambassador of Poland Piotr Opalinski shared similar sentiments saying that relations with Pakistan were extremely valuable. He also spoke in Urdu and received a huge applause from the audience. He said Poland-Pakistan friendship is time-tested and historical.
The ambassador also talked about Polish pilots buried in Gora Graveyard Rawalpindi adding every year on Ist of November they visit the Graveyard and re-furbish the graves of Polish heroes who are Pakistani heroes also.
Vice Chief of Logistic Staff GHQ, Major General Arshad Mahmood and Convener Pakistan-Poland friendship group in Senate, Senator Waseem Shahzad also attended the reception.
