GUJRANWALA: A woman and her brother-in-law committed suicide on Friday night in the Sindhwan area of the city, sources reported.
The deceased, who has been identified as Shazia and Saqib, overdosed on pills leading to their death, police reported.
According to the police, Shazia was married to Saqib’s elder brother, Faisal, for three months. However, she wanted to divorce Faisal and marry Saqib, it added.
When Shazia asked for a divorce, she and Faisal (her husband) had a heated argument which lead her to take pills and death, police said. When Saqib found out about her death he took pills as well, police added.
Further investigation into the case is underway, police concluded.
